Officials report that a paedophile preacher, Myron Chorbajian, and his spouse, Kathleen Chorbajian, are confronting charges arising from a criminal probe into child sexual abuse.
Myron Chorbajian serves as the pastor of First Southern Methodist Church in Greenville.
The Metropolitan Nashville Police Department reported that Myron Chorbajian and his wife, Kathleen Chorbajian, had outstanding arrest warrants when they were apprehended in Nashville, Tennessee, on May 15.
Myron Chorbajian and Kathleen Chorbajian were located on Opry Mills Drive at the Grand Ole Opry and apprehended near a Dave & Buster’s, according to police.
They have been returned to Greenville to confront their allegations.
Investigators from the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office Specialised Investigations Division stated that the child abuse charges pertain to both the couple’s adopted and biological children.
In April, investigators commenced an inquiry following a victim’s disclosure to law enforcement regarding severe abuse that transpired in the familial residence.
Myron Chorbajian and Kathleen Chorbajian had seven adopted children and one biological offspring.
The investigation indicates that the abuse purportedly commenced in the 1980s.
Initial data reveal that all male children experienced physical abuse, whereas all female children endured sexual abuse.
Officials said that two of the sufferers had subsequently passed away, but did not promptly disclose the cause of death.
According to the Greenville County Detention Center, Myron Chorbajian is charged with the following:
- (3 counts) Criminal sexual conduct with a minor between the ages of 11 and 14
- (3 counts) Incest
- Criminal sexual conduct, second degree
- (14 counts) Unlawful placing child at risk
- (2 counts) Assault and battery, second degree
Kathleen Chorbajian is facing the following charges:
- (14 counts) Unlawful placing child at risk
- (2 counts) Accessory after the fact of felony
Myron Chorbajian and Kathleen Chorbajian have been denied bond and both remain in custody at the Greenville County Detention Center.
