A gross misconduct hearing has confirmed claims that a male West Mercia Police officer, Nathan Rogers, routinely exhibited inappropriate behaviour towards female coworkers.

West Mercia Police stated that Nathan Rogers would have been terminated had he not already resigned, following the hearing on Tuesday.

Nathan Rogers made “extremely offensive” and “coarse” remarks and initiated unsolicited contact via social media, with his conduct characterised as “derogatory” and “harassing in nature”.

The ex-officer, stationed at the Operations and Communications Centre in Worcestershire, will be prohibited from future employment with any UK police force.

The hearing confirmed that his conduct from June 2023 to May 2025 constituted grave misconduct.

West Mercia Police stated that his behaviour was initially formally addressed in June 2023, resulting in a written warning.

The police stated that, despite both informal and official interventions, he persisted in violating policing norms of professional conduct.

It said: “Despite prior disciplinary measures, Nathan Rogers repeatedly failed to uphold professional standards, showing a blatant disregard for his colleagues and for the values of the force.

“The hearing found his actions breached the standards of authority, respect, and courtesy, and amounted to discreditable conduct.”

Nathan Rogers resigned from the force in April 2024.

Deputy Chief Constable Rachel Jones said: “Nathan Rogers was given opportunities to learn and change his behaviour, but he continued to act in a wholly unacceptable and unprofessional manner.

“His actions were highly unprofessional and undoubtedly made his female colleagues feel deeply uncomfortable and such behaviour will not be tolerated.”

He will now be added to the College of Policing’s barred list, banning him from working for a UK police service in the future.
