A Paedophile from Leicester, Neil Garnett, who confessed to multiple charges related to indecent photos of minors and their distribution, has been sentenced to imprisonment.
Neil Garnett, 58, from HMP Leicester, appeared at Leicester Crown Court on Tuesday, May 23, and pleaded guilty to six counts of producing indecent pictures of minors and three counts of distribution.
Neil Garnett received a sentence of two years and four months of incarceration.
In April 2021, authorities obtained evidence indicating that Neil Garnett had been obtaining indecent photographs of children online. He was later charged with three charges of producing Category A to C pictures of minors.
Neil Garnett did not attend his initial court appearance in March of this year and was subsequently apprehended for his failure to appear.
Upon his arrest, a mobile phone was confiscated, which included indecent photos of minors.
Subsequent analysis of the phone revealed the full magnitude of his transgressions. Numerous photographs of minors classified from Category A to C were discovered on his phone.
Neil Garnett faced additional charges of three counts for producing Category A-C indecent photos of minors and three counts for distributing Category A-C images of children.
In 2023, before crown court, Neil Garnett received a 10-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) and will be registered on the Sex Offenders Register for 10 years.
