Yet another paedophile from the Isle of Wight, Nelson Whitesmith, discovered in possession of hundreds of child sex abuse photographs and severe pornography involving animals, expressed astonishment at the duration of time until his arrest by the police.
Nelson Whitesmith, residing at Spanners Close, Chale Green, appeared before the Isle of Wight magistrates on Tuesday, April 1.
The 55-year-old confessed to possessing extreme pornography and to three counts of producing indecent photos of children, occurring between May 6, 2007, and December 3, 2023.
He was apprehended with 185 Category A photographs of children, the most egregious type, 202 Category B images, and 3,689 Category C images.
Nelson Whitesmith was caught in possession of 697 still and moving photographs of severe pornography involving live animals.
Prosecutor Lauren McConnell stated that the violations were revealed after law enforcement was notified of content uploaded to the internet on twelve distinct occasions.

Of those, three were forensically examined.
The court heard Nelson Whitesmith admitted using peer to peer software and expressed surprise at how long it took for him to be arrested.
Ms McConnell said the ages of some of the children depicted were as young as five.
Nelson Whitesmith, representing himself, declined legal advice, stating: “I’m guilty.”
His case was adjourned to June 13 at the Isle of Wight Crown Court so a pre-sentence report could be drawn up.
Nelson Whitesmith was granted unconditional bail until that date and told he must register with police within three days.
