An Eastbourne Paedophile teacher, Nicholas Esteve, incarcerated for assaulting a 12-year-old girl, has successfully appealed a court order prohibiting him from any contact with individuals under the age of 16. Nicholas Paul Esteve was an educator at Hailsham Community College when he inappropriately touched the minor, who was not a student at the institution.

The order has been amended to restrict his interaction solely with young girls, following the acceptance by judges at London’s Criminal Appeal Court that there is no indication of his attraction to males.

A teacher, Nicholas Esteve, has been sentenced to 18 months in prison following a conviction for the sexual assault of a 12-year-old girl.

Nicholas Esteve was an educator at Hailsham Community College, operated by East Sussex County Council, when he assaulted a girl who was not a student at the institution.

The now 48-year-old resident of Rotunda Road, Eastbourne, was apprehended when the mother of his victim alerted the police due to her concerns regarding Nicholas Esteve’s conduct.

Nicholas Esteve was interrogated by specialised child protection agents prior to being charged with sexual assault and soliciting a girl to participate in sexual activities.

Nicholas Esteve was presented at Lewes Crown Court, where he was found guilty of both crimes and sentenced to imprisonment.

The offences occurred in Eastbourne in April of the previous year.

Nicholas Esteve was mandated to register as a sex offender for a duration of 10 years upon his release and was issued an indefinite Sex Offender Prevention Order (SOPO).

Prohibition from engaging in activities involving children
The court order prohibits him from contacting the victim or any individual under 16 without the consent of a parent, guardian, or other suitable adult, who has been apprised of his criminal past, except for unintentional and unavoidable incidental contact in public.

Nicholas Esteve is prohibited from engaging with any organisation that may involve individuals under the age of 16.

Detective Constable Amy Green stated, “We consistently urge parents and children to approach us with concerns regarding inappropriate behaviour, and we are pleased that this mother did.”

Her daughter had remarkable bravery in confronting the challenge of testifying in court.

A representative for East Sussex County Council stated that Nicholas Esteve was suspended upon the victim’s notification to the police and subsequently terminated following an investigation.

He stated: “Upon the emergence of these allegations, both the college and the county council responded promptly.”

The allegations he faced were unequivocally unrelated to his employment at Hailsham Community College or any students from the institution.
