A 44-year-old Corby Paedophile, Nicholas Ford, has been sentenced to 13 years in jail after being convicted of nine child sexual crimes.

Nicholas Ford, formerly of Clifton Square, Corby, commenced the abuse of the child when she was 12 years old, which persisted for two years.

Ford raped the girl three times and sexually assaulted her on multiple occasions.

At the age of 18, the girl disclosed the incident to her partner, who subsequently supported her in reporting it to Northamptonshire Police.

Nicholas Ford was apprehended and, although refuting the allegations during his police interrogation, was indicted on three counts of rape and six counts of sexual assault.

A five-day trial concluding at Northampton Crown Court on March 7 resulted in the jury convicting Ford on all nine charges after slightly more than three hours of deliberation.

Nicholas Ford revisited the same court yesterday (Tuesday, May 6) where he received a 13-year prison sentence.

Lead investigator Detective Constable Ivan Bentley said: “Although no sentence can erase what happened to the victim in this case, I am pleased to see her abuser sent to prison for a significant period of time.

“Nicholas Ford is a dangerous predator and because of this woman’s bravery, he is now behind bars and unable to hurt anyone else. She should be very proud of the courage she has shown – it is truly commendable.

“I hope this case demonstrates how seriously Northamptonshire Police take child sex offences and that it doesn’t matter when the abuse happened, we will do our utmost to bring the offender to justice and to provide the victim with the care and support they deserve.”
