Nicholas Fryers Kent Murderer

A convicted murderer, Nicholas Fryers, has been sentenced to imprisonment for stabbing his co-worker more than 70 times after developing an obsession with her. Nicholas Fryers refuted the assault but was convicted by a jury at Maidstone Crown Court on November 17, 2023.

On Monday, July 22, he received a life sentence and is required to spend a minimum of 17 years and four months before being eligible for parole. On the evening of the incident, Nicholas Fryers was employed at a distribution centre on Littlebrook Manor Way as part of a day release program, having been previously convicted of murder in Wales in 1993.

The court was informed that he had been employed at the location for almost two months and had developed an obsession with a fellow employee, purchasing her gifts and inundating her with text messages, which led to her apprehension regarding his conduct. On the evening of Sunday, April 9, 2023, the victim informed the 57-year-old, Nicholas Fryers, that she no longer wished to maintain their friendship.

Nicholas Fryers thereafter informed her that he was preparing to depart the location and advised her to retrieve her possessions from his vehicle. While the couple approached his vehicle, he commenced an assault on her with a screwdriver, inflicting many stab wounds to the 24-year-old woman’s head, chest, and back.

During the event, two guys employed at the site independently entered the parking lot and attempted to intervene to halt the assault. Nicholas Fryers subsequently entered his vehicle and departed the parking lot. The victim managed to flee the area and receive first assistance prior to being sent to the hospital.

Prior to exiting the parking facility, one of the individuals who sought to interfere successfully detached his vehicle’s registration plate. Officers were alerted to the incident and successfully traced the registration number as the vehicle departed Kent. Fryers was located heading towards Preston in Lancashire, where he was apprehended at approximately 3:15 AM on Monday, April 10. He was subsequently charged in relation to the event.
