From February 2017 to January 2019, three teenage girls were subjected to grooming and sexual assault by a group of three men from the Nottingham Grooming Gang.
Mohammed Saeed Ahmed confessed to participating in sexual communication with a minor, inducing a girl under 16 to partake in sexual behaviour, and engaging in sexual activity with a girl under 16.
On March 29, 2021, he was sentenced to three years in prison and issued a restraining order against the girls.
Waqas Akhtar was convicted of engaging in sexual activity with a girl under 16, penetrative sexual activity with a girl under 16, two counts of sexual communication with a child, and meeting a girl under 16 after grooming.
He was incarcerated for seven years and six months.
Hamza Shazad received a 16-month sentence, suspended for 18 months, after pleading guilty to three counts of producing indecent photos of children, three counts of distributing such images, and an additional charge of possessing severe pornographic material.
One of the victims described the ordeal as the ‘worst time’ of her life, feeling ‘utterly betrayed’ by Mohammed Saeed Ahmed.
It left the young woman with anxiety and depression and affected her relationship with other people.
