Oliver Wade, 37, the Luton Paedophile, perpetrated abuse against the victim between the 1990s and 2000s. He attracted the attention of law enforcement in 2020 when the victim, now an adult, courageously denounced the abuse to the authorities after enduring years of agony at the hands of Wade.
Subsequent to the study, Oliver Wade was voluntarily interviewed in 2021, during which he refuted all claims presented against him.
Following an extensive investigation, he was indicted in December 2023.
In April of this year, Oliver Wade of Sunridge Avenue, Luton, was convicted at Luton Crown Court of four offences, including attempted rape and sexual assault, and on Friday, June 27, was sentenced to nine years and eight months in prison.
Oliver Wade was additionally mandated to register on the Sex Offenders’ Register for life.
Detective Constable David Widdicombe said: “This has been a horrific case, and we hope this sentencing has brought some closure to the victim.
“Oliver Wade’s 10-year campaign of abuse is shocking and something nobody should ever have to go through. We will continue to do what we can to support the victim.
“We know that a victim can carry the burden of being abused for years before they’re ready to open up about what happened to them.
“It is never too late to make a disclosure. We know it can be so difficult to report abuse, but we are here to support you every step of the way.”
