Osman Moalem Widnes Sex Offender

This is the alarming moment a young girl is almost abducted at a train station by Osman Moalem, the Widnes Sex Offender.

Osman Moalem, 25, was observed seizing the youngster in CCTV footage last October while she was seated on the steps of Liverpool Lime Street, awaiting her pals.

The 19-year-old endeavours to extricate herself while the assailant persistently yanks her arm in an attempt to abduct her.

An apprehensive elderly couple interfered, stating their intention to contact the police, yet the deranged man merely laughed at them.

After she extricates herself from his hold, the assailant then trails her around the bend into the station.

Her shouts drew the attention of bystanders, leading to the arrest of the suspect by British Transport Police moments later as he attempted to board a train.

Osman Moalem, from Brookdale, Widnes, was sentenced to 27 months in prison today (Friday, 13 June) at Liverpool Crown Court after being convicted of attempted kidnapping on Thursday, 24 April.

Investigating officer DC Olivia Hill stated: ‘Despite unequivocal CCTV evidence of the attempted kidnapping, Moalem audaciously denied it and has exhibited no remorse for his actions throughout the investigation.

‘I understand the fear experienced by the victim, and she has commendably assisted the inquiry throughout. I hope that now that Moalem is incarcerated, she can continue to advance in her treatment.

Fortunately, we operate in a CCTV-dense area, and the quality of the film, coupled with the victim’s testimony, was important in achieving Moalem’s conviction.

The British Transport Police stated: ‘We will not condone any sort of assault against women or girls.’ But we will not allow them to protect themselves either.
