For a significant sexual attack that happened over forty years ago in Stevenage, Brighton Paedophile Paul King has been sentenced to eight years in jail.
Having previously pleaded guilty to indecent assault and attempting another serious sexual assault following an incident in 1983, 63-year-old Paul King from Brighton appeared at St Albans Crown Court yesterday for sentence.
For every offence, he was sentenced to eight years in prison; these will run concurrently. Paul King will also be registered on the list of sex offenders.
The court heard how a guy approached a teenage lad strolling on a snow-covered route across Fairlands Valley Park, Stevenage, late one February night in 1983 and sexually abused him.
Although no offender was found then, the victim reported the occurrence to authorities, and the individual’s DNA profile was noted. Paul King’s positive DNA profile match came from a forensic examination of the cold case. After that, he was charged, arrested, and finally admitted guilt to the crimes.
