Dalton-in-Furness Paedophile Peter Davies was imprisoned for attempting to engage in sexual communication with what he thought was a 14-year-old minor.

Peter Davies, 46, of Dalton-in-Furness, was sentenced at Preston Crown Court yesterday, Thursday, July 4, for attempting to induce or provoke a child to participate in sexual communication, as well as engaging in sexual communication with a child.

In March of this year, an internet child abuse activist group approached police with information about Peter Davies.

This evidence, along with other police inquiries, revealed that Peter Davies had been talking sexually with what he believed to be a 14-year-old girl.

When police interviewed Peter Davies, he admitted to the offence.

Peter Davies was sentenced to two years and four months in prison and ordered to comply with a 10-year sexual harm prevention order.

According to Temporary Detective Sergeant Stewart Glendinning, Peter Davies had online talks with what he thought was a 14-year-old girl. Despite the decoy profile notifying Davies of her age, he continued to have sexually explicit conversations.

“Fortunately, there was no genuine 14-year-old girl, but this does not diminish the gravity of his offence.

“We are committed to ensuring children are safe from those seeking to commit them harm and we will do all we can to ensure those who commit offences are brought before the courts.”
