Perpetually banned: Paedophile Teacher Peter Godfrey, previously employed in Shropshire, has been expelled from the profession following an agency’s examination of information related to child pornography. A teacher employed at a Whitchurch school for eight years has been permanently prohibited from teaching, as determined by professional regulators.
Peter Godfrey served as a class teacher at the now-defunct White House School from September 2012 until his arrest and subsequent police questioning in May 2020.
Peter Godfrey, 58, has been indefinitely barred from teaching and is prohibited from instructing in any school, sixth form college, relevant youth accommodation, or children’s home in England, as determined by the Teaching Regulation Agency.
The Secretary of State for Education in confirming that decision also decided that he will not be entitled to apply for restoration of his eligibility to teach.
Panel members Dr Martin Coles, Mrs Bev Williams and Mr Dara Islam were told that Peter Godfrey had admitted the charges against him and had been sentenced.
