The Doncaster Rapist, Peter Stone, has been sentenced to prison following his victim’s courageous testimony against him.

Peter Stone, 52, of Thirlmere Gardens, Doncaster, engaged in a period of coercive behaviour towards his victim, during which he sexually assaulted her on two occasions.

In 2024, Peter Stone unlawfully entered the victim’s property and sexually assaulted her twice.

The victim of Peter Stone reported the rape offences on 9 November, and he was apprehended by officers on 14 November.

During his police interview on the same day, he refuted the allegations; however, he was charged with two counts of rape and one count of coercive or controlling behaviour.

Peter Stone’s victim courageously confronted him in court, where she recounted the severity of his crimes and the anguish his reprehensible actions had upon her.

Peter Stone entered a plea of not guilty to the charges but was subsequently convicted by a jury after a trial at Sheffield Crown Court on 16 May.

On Wednesday, June 4, he was convicted by the same court to 14 years of imprisonment.

Detective Constable Cameron Vernon, of the Protecting Vulnerable Persons Unit, said: “I would like to recognise the incredible bravery of Peter Stone’s victim in facing him in court, and providing evidence that was crucial in seeing him convicted of these despicable crimes.”

“Peter Stone is a dangerous individual who caused this woman immeasurable pain for months, subjecting her to fear and physical violence.

“I am very happy to see Peter Stone jailed for 14 years, and I hope that this sentence encourages other victims of sexual violence to report these crimes to police.

“We will investigate every report and take action to see justice done.”
