Raymond Hanks paedophile sex offender Bridlington East Yorkshire

A Bridlington Paedophile, Raymond Hanks, has been punished for sexually attacking a young woman asleep at a North Yorkshire coast holiday park.

Following a trial at York Crown Court in June, 24-year- Raymond Hanks from Bridlington, East Yorkshire, was found guilty of three counts of sexually touching a woman over sixteen.

The episode occurred several years ago while Hanks and the victim were employed at the holiday park.

Against the same victim and another young woman who said he had sexually assaulted her the week before while asleep in staff accommodation, Raymond Hanks was cleared of two more charges: attempted rape and rape.

On Thursday, July 18, Raymond Hanks was given a 12-month prison sentence at York Crown Court suspended for two years.

Hanks was also listed on the Register of Sex Offenders for ten years and subjected to a ten-year restraining order against the victim.

“There are no winners in this case,” stated Specialist Police Staff Investigator Doug Stanway, whose investigation and following trial have impacted many young lives.

“The victim was seeking a better future for herself on the East Coast and was enticed to work at the holiday resort right at the start of her adult working life.

Six weeks later, when Raymond Hanks assaulted her, this fantasy was destroyed. She then quit her work and came home.

“She has shown incredible tenacity by presenting live evidence to the court amid her attacker’s presence.

“I want her to be able to start reconstructing her life. I wish her only the best for the future.
