Rhys Cheal has been imprisoned for sexually assaulting a lady while she was unconscious at a location in Kent. On August 21, 2021, the victim was socialising in Gravesend when she encountered Rhys Cheal.
She intended to visit a female friend’s residence at the conclusion of the evening; however, Rhys Cheal, who had been trailing her, seized the chance to accompany her to a taxi. When the woman’s companion attempted to accompany her, Cheal discouraged them, asserting he would ensure her safe return home due to her illness.
He instead transported her to a location in Longfield. She fell asleep in the house, only to awaken later to discover Rhys Cheal assaulting her. Rhys Cheal, from Longfield, was apprehended on December 3 and subsequently indicted for rape.
The 26-year-old entered a plea of not guilty at Woolwich Crown Court and was convicted on Friday, June 21, subsequent to a trial. He received a sentence of four years and six months’ imprisonment on the same day. He will be permanently registered on the Sex Offenders’ Register.
