Richard Allmark, 21, the Smallthorne Rapist, from Stoke-on-Trent, has been convicted of rape, assault, and strangling after a court trial.

Between May and December of the previous year, he perpetrated a campaign of abuse on the survivor, assaulting her multiple times by pulling her hair and strangling her.

Earlier this year, we issued a wanted appeal to assist in locating him. Richard Allmark surrendered himself after seeing the incident and was subsequently charged with the offences.

At a trial concluding on Monday, 14 July, at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court, Richard Allmark was convicted by the jury of two charges of rape, one crime of intentional strangling, and one count of assault resulting in actual bodily harm. He additionally entered a guilty plea to a separate charge of assault by beating during a prior hearing.

Richard Allmark is currently in detention, awaiting sentencing on September 12 of this year.
