A Jersey paedophile, Richard Louis Romeril, has received a term of 16 and a half years in prison for sexual offences against a child, including attempted rape.

Richard Louis Romeril, 49, was sentenced on Friday, 29 November, at Jersey Royal Court for 10 sexual crimes of which he was convicted in June.

This was in addition to four previous charges to which he had pleaded guilty to the creation of indecent and forbidden images of youngsters.
