Pulled back before a crown court judge, a former deputy headteacher, Richard Swinnerton Hartlepool Paedophile, admitted viewing graphic child rape movies.

Richard Swinnerton came clean in October 2020 about seeing graphic images of children on the dark web while his wife and child were at home. Former Coulby Newham resident, the paedophile acknowledged he had a “sexual attraction towards children” and would view the graphic abuse footage “weekly”.

Judge Deborah Sherwin suspended him for two years and sentenced him to ten months in prison. In addition, he was directed to sign the sex offender register and subjected to a ten-year sexual harm prevention order.

On Thursday, though, Richard Swinnerton — who now resides in Staithes Court in Hartlepool — was back before Teesside Crown Court, where he acknowledged two order breaches. The Middlesbrough court heard the breaches occurred between October 22, 2022 and August 26, 2023.

The 34-year-old participated in an “organised group” which would expose him to youngsters without notifying authorities and had supervised or unsupervised contact with a child under the age of eighteen without social services’s permission. Richard Swinnerton received a 15-month jail term suspended for 18 months.

After his first arrest in May 2020, Richard Swinnerton promptly left his employment at St Clare’s Catholic Primary School in Acklam, Middlesbrough. The crimes had nothing to do with his job.

In the first court case, the judge was informed police had discovered six recordings including obscene images, all of which fell under category A—the most severe—one horrible video included a youngster between the ages of six and eight and lasted full thirty-six minutes.

Another five-minute-long film turned up showing the rape, torture and sexual assault of a two- or three-year-old youngster. Later on, a closer look at Richard Swinnerton’s laptop turned up 95 obscene photographs in total. There were 87 overall in Category A; 11 were “moving images”; seven fell into Category B, and one fell into Category C.

Following the case, a disciplinary tribunal forbade him from returning to the classroom. “Mr Richard Richard Swinnerton is prohibited from teaching indefinitely and cannot teach in any school, sixth form college, relevant youth accommodation or children’s home in England. Following a recommendation in favour of a prohibition order,” said Sarah Buxcey, decision maker for the secretary of state.

“Moreover, considering the gravity of the claims made against him, I have decided that Mr Richard Swinnerton is not entitled to seek restoration of his eligibility to teach.”
