A London Sex Offender, Rikki Bedford, who consistently violated the stipulations of his Sexual Harm Prevention Order and Criminal Behaviour Order has been sentenced to one year of imprisonment.

Rikki Bedford, 27, was found guilty of sexual assault on 4 March 2020 at Kingston Crown Court and received a sentence of nine months’ imprisonment, in addition to being registered on the Sex Offenders Register for a duration of 10 years. He was issued a Sexual Harm Prevention Order and a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO), to be enforced simultaneously.

Rikki Bedford did not adhere to the stipulations of his SHPO on three prior occasions: November 2020, May 2021, and November 2021.

On Friday, October 7, 2022, Rikki Bedford was released from incarceration after being held on remand for a separate case in which he was acquitted. His release necessitated that he register at a police station within three days, a condition he did not fulfil.

On 14 October 2022, Rikki Bedford was apprehended by the Metropolitan Police and detained, during which he assaulted one officer and racially insulted another.

PC Laura Pammer, who conducted the investigation, stated: “Rikki Bedford has consistently violated the stipulations of his order and has persisted in offending subsequent to his release from prison.” The gravity of these violations has led to his reincarceration for an additional year.

“I trust that this case instills confidence in our local communities regarding our strict enforcement of requirements imposed on offenders.”
