On June 20, 2025, Deputy Tanner Anderson got a notification from a vigilant citizen regarding a sex offender residing at a certain address without notifying law enforcement. An inquiry commenced, and witnesses were interrogated. Following the inquiry, it was established that 49-year-old Robert Eugene Goertler had resided at 7114 Hwy 126 North, Unit #2 for roughly five months without informing the Sheriff’s Office of his relocation.
In 2012, Robert Eugene Goertler was convicted of second-degree Criminal Sexual Conduct in St. Joseph County, Michigan, and subsequently incarcerated.
Robert Eugene Goertler has not yet received a risk classification from the State of Arkansas.
Robert Eugene Goertler was apprehended without incident at his apartment in Midway and subsequently incarcerated at the Baxter County Detention Centre. He is detained on a $15,000 bond awaiting his hearing in Baxter County Circuit Court on June 23.
