Bexhill Paedophile Robert Howard Duncan, a former Isle of Wight man who sexually abused two children, has been sentenced to twelve years in prison.

Originally of Gurnard, near Cowes, Robert Howart Duncan, of Chapel Walk in Bexhill-on-Sea in East Sussex, first appeared at the Isle of Wight Magistrates Court on 13th April last year, facing a total of 4 historic charges; assault of a child under 13 by penetration, attempted rape of a child under 13 and 2 counts of non-penetrative sexual activity with a child.

The matter proceeded to trial at the Isle of Wight Crown Court after the 61-year-old entered a not-guilty plea to all the allegations against him.

The court heard how Robert Howart Duncan, who had once worked for two local undertakers, had sexually mistreated the two young girls; one of them suffered for six years at the hands of the paedophile. Just eight years old, the youngest victim had crimes ranging from 1999 to 2015.

A jury judged him guilty on three charges on March 21st but not guilty of the attempted rape. Portsmouth Crown Court received the case for sentence.

Robert Howart Duncan showed up at the dock last Friday and was sentenced to one year on licence plus twelve years behind jail. The court also put him subject to an indefinite sexual harm prevention order and mandated him to sign on as a registered sex offender eternally.

Robert Howart Duncan will be behind bars until at least 2030 since it was decided he must serve at least eight years behind bars before he may petition for parole.
