The Outwell Paedophile, Rui Pereira, convicted of 19 sexual offences against children, including six instances of rape, has been sentenced to 16 years in prison.

Rui Pereira, previously residing on Wisbech Road, Outwell, Norfolk, was sentenced today, Thursday, 1 May, at Lincoln Crown Court for offences involving five distinct victims.

The 24-year-old, Rui Pereira, faced allegations of rape, child sexual assault, engaging in sexual activities with a minor, sexual communication with a kid, and the creation and possession of indecent photographs.

The contrast lies in that making indecent photos pertains to the possession of explicit images, whereas capturing indecent images involves the personal creation of such images.

Rui Pereira had previously admitted guilt to all 19 accusations but has not elucidated his actions at any time.

The court was informed that he impersonated a teenager online in 2022 to establish contacts with youngsters below the age of 13.

Rui Pereira would subsequently initiate sexual discourse before persuading his victims to meet him, where sexual actions occurred.

His victims reside in the Lincolnshire and Norfolk regions.

Today, Rui Pereira has been jailed for 16 years and was given a sexual harm prevention order and a restraining order.

Rui Pereira must also serve an extended licence period of two years on his release from jail.

It ends a lengthy investigation by officers at Lincolnshire Police, who worked with colleagues outside of the county to piece together what had happened.

Detective Constable Carla Sutton branded Rui Pereira’s ‘behaviour’ and wholly unacceptable, praising the resilience of the children involved and their families.

She said: “The children in this case have been nothing but strong, brave and resilient and they must be very proud of themselves for coming forward.

“Rui Pereira knew the ages of these children when he began sexual conversations with them, he lured them in to thinking he was just a teenager himself in order to meet and satisfy his sexual needs.

“Rui Pereira is a sexual predator that preyed on young children and this conviction means he won’t be able to cause any further harm.”
