Paedophile Ryan Holtum, 39, of Hainault Avenue, Westcliff, showed up at Chelmsford Crown Court on Thursday, May and received an almost two-decade term.
Following a report outlining several instances of sexual assault against a minor, Essex Police started looking into Ryan Holtum in February 2020.
The victim fearfully revealed that Ryan Holtum had sexually assaulted her several times, the first time when she was just six years old.
Three hours after the report on suspected rape against a 13-year-old child, Ryan Holtum was taken into custody. He refuted all accusations against him during an interview and sought to suggest that the victim was lying.
Later charges against him included eight counts of rape against a child under the age of 13, one crime of making a minor engage in sexual conduct, and one count of attempted rape of a child under 13.
Following the end of a trial at Chelmsford Crown Court on November 13, 2023, the jury decided him guilty of two charges of rape of a child under 13, forcing a kid under 13 to engage in sexual conduct and one count of attempted rape of a child under 13.
Six counts of rape of a child under 13 could not be decided upon; hence the charges remain on file.
After being remanded into custody, he showed up on Thursday, May, at Chelmsford Crown Court, where he was sentenced to eighteen years. He was also put on the Sex Offenders Register for a lifetime and given a one-year extended licence.
