A Paedophile hailing from Stoke-on-Trent, Sajid Najeeb, who took advantage of vulnerable children for his own sexual gratification has been sentenced to prison.
Sajid Najeeb, a 37-year-old resident of Burslem, Stoke-on-Trent, was handed a three-year prison sentence at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court on Thursday (29 August). This followed his prior admission to three charges of communicating sexually with a minor and three charges of producing or possessing indecent images or simulated images of a minor.
From March 2023 until April 2024, Najeeb engaged in communication with numerous survivors via social media using his cell phone. He persistently solicited the females to meet him, participate in sexual acts, and transmit explicit videos of themselves to him by phone.
Sajid Najeeb was apprehended at his residence on April 29, 2024. When asked for his mobile phone, he told the officers he did not possess one.
The officers discovered the phone’s number, called it, and heard it emitting a sound in his bedroom. Subsequently, it was discovered concealed beneath his mattress and confiscated.
The child exploitation team (CET) officers diligently tried to locate the survivors who Najeeb had contacted after thoroughly examining the material on his phone.
All of them were visited and interviewed as part of the investigation. Specialised officers are currently providing ongoing assistance to them in conjunction with partner organisations.
We obtained the necessary evidence to accuse Sajid Najeeb of the six charges, resulting in his appearance in court and subsequent conviction.
Detective Constable Kate Callaghan, representing the Child Exploitation Team (CET), stated that this outcome was accomplished by proactive measures aimed at identifying vulnerability and taking decisive action against anyone attempting to abuse children in Staffordshire.
“Sajid Najeeb displayed unwavering determination in his efforts to take advantage of the survivors in this situation.” I am pleased that we successfully obtained the necessary evidence to incarcerate him and safeguard the individuals he was causing harm.
