A Wallasey Paedophile mother of seven, Samantha Bennett, was distraught after being sentenced to imprisonment for the persistent sexual abuse of a young schoolgirl.

Samantha Bennett manipulated her victim into perceiving their relationship as “normal” by inundating her with presents, such as an iPad and a puppy.

This campaign of “exploitation” resulted in the theft of her “childhood and innocence” by the married mother of a six-month-old infant, who persists in upholding her innocence.

Today, she was informed that she had compelled the adolescent to “perform acts no child should ever endure,” as she confronted the “utter catastrophe” of potentially years in prison.

A trial at Liverpool Crown Court revealed that Samantha Bennett’s abuse transpired over several years, beginning when the complainant was as young as 13.

The 39-year-old resident, Samantha Bennett, of Stringhey Road in Wallasey, Wirral, manipulated her with gifts such as an iPad, mobile phones, a puppy, and money before subjecting her to a series of humiliating sexual activities.

Holly Menary, prosecuting, read the jury a string of messages which Samantha Bennett had sent to her victim, including one which said: “You know if you love me. You know if you like being with me. You can still be confused, but you know if you love me.”

Samantha Bennett added in another text: “Happy Valentine’s Day babe. Love and miss you loads. Hope we sort things out. Can’t wait for our day, but wish I could give you a big hug.”

A third message meanwhile read: “Since you told me we’re over, it’s been like I’m your worst enemy. A few minutes before we split, you loved me.”

The two were also said to have discussed “running away and getting married when she was of age”. In a statement read out to the court on her behalf, the complainant said: “It took me many years to realise that what happened to me was abuse.

“I had been brainwashed into thinking that what happened was normal and I was in a normal relationship, when I was a child who you took advantage of. Before, I was just a normal teenage girl. Now, I hate who I’ve become. I was confident and outgoing, but now I feel like I’ve been reduced to nothing.

“You just wanted to use me sexually for your own sick gratification. You stole my childhood from me. You stole my innocence. I will never get them back. You groomed me with expensive gifts to take advantage of me. You got me clothes I really wanted, then tried to burn them and poured bleach on my things and cut them up.

“I have to take medication every day just to numb the pain. I have tried to take my own life more than once. I’ve lost trust in women. I never finished school because of you. Because of that, I have no qualifications or life skills. My dreams have been taken away from me. I will never forget the things you did to me. You forced me to do things no child should ever have to do.”

Samantha Bennett, who was seen wiping tears away with a tissue at times during Monday’s hearing, has no previous convictions. Simeon Evans, defending, told the court: “There is little that can be said about the offending, of course. Mrs Samantha Bennett continues to deny committing these offences.

“Mrs Samantha Bennett is a mother to seven children. There are four children under the age of 18, the youngest of who is six months. The six-year-old has been diagnosed as autistic, as has one of her older children.

Another of her sons has been diagnosed with other forms of neurodivergence. There have been recent, very serious mental health difficulties with that young person.

Samantha Bennett, who used two walking sticks as a mobility aid in court, was found guilty of a total of six sexual offences, including sexual activity with a child, by jurors.

Appearing in the dock wearing a red cardigan over a black top and with her dark hair tied back in a ponytail, Samantha Bennett was locked up for five-and-a-half years this afternoon.
