A vile paedophile has received an 18-year prison sentence after a jury convicted him of several sexual offences against a minor.
Scott Daniels mistreated the minor, who courageously informed her mother of her suffering.
The victim’s mother notified Northumbria Police, prompting an immediate inquiry against Scott Daniels by the authorities.
He was apprehended and, during the interrogation, refuted the occurrence of any offences against the victim.
Scott Daniels, 37, faced charges of several counts of child rape, multiple counts of sexual penetration, and many counts of inducing a child to participate in sexual behaviour, all pertaining to the same victim.
He refuted all allegations but was found guilty by a jury at a trial at Newcastle Crown Court in August, subsequent to which he was detained in custody.
On Friday, December 1, Scott Daniels, from St John’s Green, North Shields, received an 18-year jail sentence along with a five-year licence period.
Scott Daniels was issued a restraining order prohibiting him from contacting the victim and was also assigned a sexual harm prevention order. He will also be permanently included on the sex offenders’ register.
After the sentencing, Detective Constable Natasha Wilson of Northumbria Police stated, “Primarily, I wish to commend the victim in this case, who, along with their family, has exhibited remarkable courage.”
“No child should ever endure any form of abuse, and I trust this sentence demonstrates our unwavering intolerance for offenders like Scott Daniels by ensuring their accountability.”
Detective Constable Wilson stated: “Scott Daniels is a perilous individual, and it is imperative that he be removed from the community and incarcerated for an extended duration to prevent him from inflicting harm or suffering on others.”
“As a Force, we will persist in safeguarding our communities by apprehending predators like him, thwarting these heinous offences, and providing requisite support to those who come forward.”
