Subsequent to a Warwickshire Police inquiry, a 50-year-old male, Scott Dobson-Smith Plymouth Paedophile, has been sentenced to 25 years’ imprisonment for the rape of a minor.
Scott Dobson-Smith, previously residing on Dryburgh Crescent, Plymouth, and currently incarcerated, appeared at Warwick Crown Court on Thursday, January 16.
In February 2024, Scott Dobson-Smith was convicted of nine charges of rape and sexual abuse on a minor and received a 24-year prison sentence.
Last Monday, he was additionally convicted of assault and mistreatment of another kid, receiving an additional 12-month sentence to be served consecutively with his existing term.
The offences occurred in the Warwick area from 2012 to 2021 against two girls who were aged 8 and 5 at the onset of the abuse.
Due to the defendant’s pending trial at the time of his initial sentencing in February 2024, we refrained from disclosing that outcome at that moment.
Following the sentencing, investigating officer Detective Constable Lucy Skidmore said: “Scott Dobson-Smith was known to the victims and used his position to control, manipulate and groom them.
“His crimes were despicable, and while I am pleased he is now facing the consequences, it will never undo the damage and trauma he has caused.
“I’d like to thank the victims for their courage throughout this investigation, and I hope this sentence highlights that regardless of when a sexual offence occurred, we will investigate and ensure justice prevails.”
