Scott Waddell, the Glen Urquhart, who asked for photos of a 12-year-old girl’s breasts has been spared jail.
Scott Waddell contacted the “girl” – actually an undercover police officer – and “persistently requested photographs of the user’s breasts”, a court was told.
When officers raided his home, he told them: “I didn’t know she was that young.”
Scott Waddell appeared at Inverness Sheriff Court for sentencing, having previously admitted attempting to communicate indecently with a younger child.
The court heard that the profile immediately identified as a 12-year-old girl – a fact that was reiterated by the user during the conversation.
Scott Waddell’s home was raided on January 1 2024.
The Sheriff placed Scott Waddell, of Glen Urquhart, on a community payback order with three years supervision and a requirement that he complete the Moving Forward to Change programme for sexual offenders.
He also placed restrictions on Scott Waddell’s internet and social media use and ordered that he complete 160 hours of unpaid work in the community.
He placed him on the sex offenders register for three years.
Outside court, a supporter of Paedophiles and friend of Scott Waddell intervened as a photographer attempted to photograph the offender, complaining that we were invading his privacy.
