The Bagnall Paedophile, Shaun Willcocks, committed sexual offences against a child in Staffordshire has been sentenced to a prison term of over two years following his conviction on three charges in a court of law.
Shaun Willcocks, a 63-year-old resident of Bagnall, Stoke-on-Trent, was convicted of three child sexual crimes and subsequently sentenced to two years and four months in prison by the Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court on August 23rd.
- Two counts of the sexual assault of a girl under 13
- One count of causing a child under 13 to look at an image of sexual activity
Our investigation of Shaun Willcocks commenced in June 2021 after a courageous survivor came forward and disclosed the details of her experiences to an adult.
The incident of abuse occurred in the year 2015.
The detectives diligently collected all available evidence to prosecute Shaun Willcocks and provide maximum support to the survivor.
Shaun Willcocks refuted the charges but was convicted by a jury after a trial in Stoke-on-Trent in July of this year.
As part of his imprisonment, Shaun Willcocks was further issued a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) for ten years.
Following the sentencing, Detective Constable Keri Inskip said: “I’d like to recognise the immense bravery that the survivor in this case showed in coming forward and telling people what Shaun Willcocks had done.
“I hope this serves as an example to any survivors out there that they will be listened to and those responsible for these crimes will be targeted by officers who are passionate about securing justice.”
