A Macclesfield Paedophile, Simon Arden, has received a 14-year prison sentence for several sexual offences against women and children. Simon Arden was sentenced at Chester Crown Court on Thursday, April 17.
The 41-year-old from Macclesfield, Simon Arden, has already been convicted of numerous offences. The offences encompassed rape, sexual assault, indecent exposure, sexual assault of a minor under 13, engaging in sexual conduct in the presence of a minor, and persuading a minor under 13 to participate in sexual activity.
In April 2024, law enforcement received allegations of rape and sexual assault perpetrated by Simon Arden between 2011 to 2021 against several victims. A woman reported to the authorities that she had been sexually raped by Simon Arden on many occasions during her childhood. Simon Arden also indecently exposed himself to her and participated in sexual activities in her presence.
Additional victims also communicated with law enforcement. Another woman informed detectives that Simon Arden had assaulted her in 2013. He had also committed sexual assault against her and indecently exposed himself to her. Another victim revealed that Simon Arden had indecently exposed himself to her in 2016. Simultaneously, a girl reported to the police that she had been sexually molested by Simon Arden during her childhood in 2021.
Simon Arden was then apprehended and subsequently indicted about the charges. On Friday, February 21, he was convicted after a two-week trial at Chester Crown Court.
In addition to the jail sentence, Simon Arden has been granted indefinite restraining orders against the victims and is subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
Detective Constable Brett Oliver stated:
Simon Arden’s 14-year incarceration underscores the gravity of his offences and emphasises his identity as a sexual predator, fixated solely on his perverse impulses, disregarding the suffering inflicted upon his victims.
I extend my gratitude to the victims in this case for providing testimony to the police regarding their experiences. Due to their courage and testimony, this perilous individual is now incarcerated, preventing him from perpetrating further crimes.
We take all reports of sexual offences seriously, prioritising the wishes and needs of the victims, and will conduct a comprehensive investigation into any allegations.
