The Livingston Rapist, Stefan Scott, 26, sexually assaulted three victims, perpetrating nearly identical crimes against each woman by striking and choking them.

A domineering perpetrator who physically and sexually assaulted six women during a seven-year period of violence has been imprisoned.

Stefan Scott, 26, was found guilty of violently strangling and raping three women, with one victim enduring two savage sexual assaults.

He perpetrated nearly identical acts against each of his victims, menacing them, using pejorative epithets, physically assaulting them, and frequently seizing them by the throat.

The women he sexually assaulted, whose identities are protected for legal reasons, informed a jury at the High Court in Livingston that Scott refused to accept rejection when seeking sexual relations and rapidly resorted to violence.

They provided testimony that the Buckfast consumer, Stefan Scott, would verbally abuse them, referring to them as stupid bitch, slag, slut, or whore, and physically assault them with repeated punches if they defied his orders.

The jury deliberated for three hours before reaching unanimous convictions, convicting him on 21 charges, which included rape, assault causing harm and endangerment of life, as well as issuing violent threats.

A subsequent allegation of raping one of his victims while she was asleep was deemed unproven, resulting in his acquittal by Judge Lord Burns.

Throughout the five-day trial, the rape victims, aged 21, 29, and 33, provided strikingly similar testimonies of how Stefan Scott constrained their breathing by crushing their throats throughout the assaults.

The 33-year-old stated that he submerged her head below and assaulted her in three distinct manners during a singular harrowing event.

Stefan Scott asserted in his defence that all sexual encounters with the women were consensual and refuted their allegations that he disregarded refusals, contending that if the women were not amenable to sex, it did not occur.

He acknowledged that there had been numerous disputes during his relationships with the ladies and that he had struck one of them three times during an altercation.

He categorically refuted the allegations of strangling and raping any of them; yet, the jury did not find him credible.

Former lovers, ages 25 and 26, recounted how their interactions with Stefan Scott initially commenced positively but rapidly devolved into controlling aggression.

A police officer also presented evidence from a deceased 29-year-old individual.

The 25-year-old stated that he restrained her on a bed with his hands around her throat, constricting her neck for several minutes, so impeding her breathing to a life-threatening extent.

She stated that he moreover hurled a saucepan of water with noodles at her, compelling her to raise her hands to shield her face.

On a separate occasion, he struck her in the eye with significant force, causing her eyebrow to rupture, and instructed her to claim that she had collided with a door.

On another occasion, he yanked her by the ankles off the bed, causing her to fall forcefully onto the floor.

The 26-year-old stated that she spent six months with Stefan Scott before discovering his infidelity with her 29-year-old best friend. During that period, she stated that he would consistently yell, curse at her, and use derogatory terms.

Upon commencing her relationship with the friend, she observed that her companion bore bruises, including a notable one resembling an iron on her leg.

The buddy provided a statement to the police after being hospitalised with significant bruising on her back and ligature marks on her neck.

She disclosed that he had threatened to incinerate her residence, attempted to asphyxiate her, forcefully slammed her head onto the floor, and struck her repeatedly, resulting in damage.

She informed the police that she experienced the same type of derogatory remarks directed at her as reported by the other witnesses.

After the guilty verdicts, attorney depute Cath Harper said that Stefan Scott, residing on Rannoch Road, Perth, had prior convictions for domestic abuse and had completed two 10-month jail sentences, the latest of which was handed in August of the previous year.

Lord Burns requested reports on Scott’s background and an evaluation of the risk he presents to the public, particularly to women, prior to sentencing at Glasgow High Court on 5 April. He ordered Stefan Scott to remain in detention until that time.

He mandated that Scottish Ministers be informed of the rape convictions pursuant to legislation safeguarding vulnerable groups and advised Stefan Scott that his name would be permanently retained on the sex offenders register.
