A Hebburn Paedophile predator, Stephen Adams, has been incarcerated for participating in sexual contacts with an individual he presumed to be a minor.

Stephen Adams, 25, has been incarcerated after receiving a sentence from a judge subsequent to a sophisticated police investigation conducted by the North East Regional Organised Crime Unit (NEROCU).

Stephen Adams, residing on Blackpool Parade in Hebburn, was under the impression he was communicating with a 14-year-old kid online and continued to transmit sexually explicit texts and photographs of himself.

Stephen Adams was conversing with a NEROCU police investigator who was advancing in their inquiry.

Stephen Adams scheduled a meeting with the child last November, but he encountered authorities prepared to apprehend him. He was subsequently charged with Attempting to Arrange or Facilitate Child Sexual Offences and Engaging in Sexual Communication with a Child.

Stephen Adams appeared at Newcastle Crown Court earlier this year, where he entered a guilty plea to all charges.

Today (June 20), he appeared before the same court and was sentenced to two years and four months imprisonment, 10 years on the sex offenders register and a 10 year Sexual Harm Prevention Order.

Speaking after the sentencing, Detective Constable Lee Robertson, said: “I want to thank everyone who worked on this investigation, their efforts have ensured a dangerous predator is behind bars.

“Under Operation Sentinel, our regional approach to tacking serious and organised crime, we will continue to investigate these online offences to safeguard children and protect the public.”
