A convicted paedophile sex offender from Grantham, Stephen Cherry, has been sentenced to a further 16 months in prison. Stephen Cherry is currently serving a 10.5-year prison sentence after being convicted of sexual offences against a minor earlier this year.

The 50-year-old, Stephen Cherry, previously residing on Shanklin Drive, Grantham, admitted guilt to two more allegations of sexual assault against a second adult victim during his appearance at Lincoln Crown Court in October.

Judge James House KC informed Stephen Cherry that he must serve his 16-month sentence consecutively to the term he is now serving.

A restraining order was issued, prohibiting Stephen Cherry from contacting the victim or visiting her residence.

Earlier this year Stephen Cherry was found guilty of 11 offences, including sexually assaulting a child aged under-13, sexual activity with a child and one charge of oral rape.

The victim had come forward in 2022 after learning about sexual abuse from watching a television show and receiving sex education at school.

She complained that Stephen Cherry “made her do things” and was interviewed by specially trained police officers.

Stephen Cherry will also face an extended licence period of 12 months on his release from jail after Judge House ruled he was a dangerous offender.
