Have you seen Stephen Cobby in Eastbourne? Is he back for more? Where is Eastbourne Paedophile Stephen Cobby?
A PAEDOPHILE has been incarcerated for possessing indecent photos of minors.
Stephen Cobby, now 45, of Rotherfield Avenue, was sentenced to four years in prison at Hove Crown Court on Friday (April 5) after pleading guilty to 16 counts of possessing indecent photos, three counts of creating indecent images, and one count of distributing them, committed between 2007 and 2011.
All offences pertaining to an adolescent girl. Six of the charges related to the acquisition of indecent photos, and all three offences concerning the creation of indecent images, also involved the presence of a teenage male.
Cobby received an indeterminate 10-year Sexual Offence Prevention Order (SOPO), which imposes stringent limitations on his access to minors and computers. Upon his release from prison, he will be mandated to register as a sex offender for life. The court issued a forfeiture order for the destruction of the confiscated photographs and equipment.
Detective Constable Rebecca Dixon stated: “This has been a protracted and intricate investigation, culminating in Cobby facing justice.” He was an amateur photographer who sought this young girl to serve as a model for his own sexual enjoyment and distribution to others.
We recommend that all families with young girls contemplating a modelling career verify photographers’ qualifications and avoid attending appointments unaccompanied, instead bringing a friend or informing an adult.
