Steven Bielby paedophile rapist child sex offender - Bude

An individual, Steven Bielby Bude Paedophile, who sexually assaulted a minor and committed rape in the rear compartment of his commercial vehicle has been sentenced to a substantial term of imprisonment. Steven Bielby, a 68-year-old individual, engaged in the act of meeting the young victim from school to commit acts of rape and abuse against her.

Steven Bielby, residing on Woodfield Road in Bude, was brought before Truro Crown Court for sentencing after admitting to four counts of rape and indecency with a child. However, after evading capture, he only entered his guilty pleas and went on the run. Steven Bielby absconded from Cornwall before his scheduled trial but was apprehended by an automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) camera near Swindon. Eventually, he confessed to his actions and was subsequently returned to Cornwall.

Presenting the case, Jason Beal informed the court about the occurrence of the offences almost three decades ago. Steven Bielby manipulated the young girl through gift-giving and initiated sexual abuse when she was 13 years old. According to Mr. Beal, Steven Bielby was hired to transport fruits and vegetables. However, he would then sexually assault her in the rear of the vehicle before dumping her off. She tried to dissuade him by expressing her concern about potential witnesses, but he persisted unabated.

The instances of abuse occurred repeatedly, and Steven Bielby also arranged meetings with the young victim outside of school to commit acts of rape and abuse at different places. According to Mr. Beal, she did not resist because the situation was ordinary and familiar. He stated that he urged his victim to groom her pubic hair and also pilfer condoms from stores.

The victim stated in her victim impact statement that she was deprived of a suitable education due to the abuse she endured and had a limited social circle. She experienced a mental collapse and was prescribed anti-psychotic medicine.

Steven Bielby’s representative, Rupert Taylor, stated that his client is experiencing health problems, is in poor health, and does not attempt to downplay his acts.

In his sentencing, Judge Simon Carr described the rape as a persistent and organised act that occurred over a prolonged period. You choose to groom and prepare her for the subsequent sexual activities. She was unable to defend herself or locate someone to protect her. You regarded her as something that was quickly discarded.

Judge Carr characterised Steven Bielby’s absconding as an act of “simple cowardice,” suggesting that Bielby could not confront the consequences of his actions. Bielby received a prison sentence of 20 years.
