A 41-year-old Forth Valley Rapist, Steven Connery, has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for sexual offences committed in the Forth Valley and Tayside regions between May 2006 and May 2019.

In March, Steven Connery was convicted at the High Court in Glasgow of multiple offences, including rape and sexual assault.

Steven Connery received his sentence on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, before the same court.

Steven Connery was apprehended on Wednesday, September 7, 2022, subsequent to an inquiry conducted by law enforcement after two women reported the sexual assaults.

Regrettably, one of the women has subsequently passed away. Nonetheless, their evidence was presented in court, with statements recited by one of the investigating officers. This led to Steven Connery’s conviction.

Detective Sergeant Khalid Abdulrahman of Forth Valley’s Public Protection Unit said: “Although one of Steven Connery’s victims passed away, it was right that her evidence was heard in court through the reading of statements. I hope this sentencing brings some comfort to both her family and the other victim in this case. Our thoughts remain with them as without their information, Steven Connery wouldn’t have been held accountable for his despicable actions.

“Such crimes will not be tolerated. I would urge anyone who has been a victim of a sexual offence or anyone with information about those involved to come forward and report it, regardless of when it happened. You can be assured that you will be fully supported by our specialist officers and partner agencies.”
