Steven Jarrold Plymouth Sex Offender has been sentenced to 18 months in prison for sexually assaulting a woman. Steven John William Jarrold, 39, from Manston Close in Plymouth, was sentenced at Plymouth Crown Court on Tuesday 11 June after pleading guilty to sexual assault without penetration. Jarrold must also sign the Sex Offenders’ Register for 10 years.

The court heard how Jarrold and the victim had been drinking at the same pub, with the victim describing herself as extremely drunk.

Later that night, Steven Jarrold sexually assaulted the victim. Steven Jarrold apologised and left the scene. He continued to send the victim messages up until his arrest.

In interview Steven Jarrold admitted touching the victim.

Detective Constable Danielle Pavoni said following the sentencing: “I would like to commend the victim for her courage and resilience throughout the investigation and thank her for coming forward to Devon and Cornwall Police to report this crime.

“Nothing will take away the trauma that she has experienced. It is hoped that this outcome will give other victims of sexual assaults the strength to come forward and report incidents to police, knowing that they will be believed and fully supported.”
