A man, Stewart Carlisle Newark Paedophile, has been incarcerated for the repeated sexual assault of a juvenile child, aided by incriminating DNA evidence discovered on two pairs of pants.
Stewart Carlisle, 30 years old, was apprehended in December of the previous year following his victim’s claim of many sexual assaults occurring over a five-month duration.
Stewart Carlisle refuted the charges and asserted that he had never engaged in any sexual contact with the youngster.
In October, during a trial at Nottingham Crown Court, the jury was presented with persuasive DNA evidence from two pairs of boxer shorts.
The evidence robustly corroborated critical aspects of the victim’s testimony and severely compromised Carlisle’s case.
Following a week-long trial at Nottingham Crown Court, Stewart Carlisle was convicted of four counts of rape and five counts of engaging in sexual contact with a minor.
He was additionally convicted of aggravated car theft and obstructing justice—offenses associated with an effort to compel the victim to retract the accusations.
On Friday, January 31, at Derby Crown Court, Stewart Carlisle, previously of Newark, was sentenced to 15 years in prison.
He was also added to the sex offenders’ register for life and handed a restraining order forbidding any further contact with his victim.
Detective Constable Richard Howe, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:
“Like many young people in this situation, the victim in this case was initially reluctant to come forward for fear that he would not be believed.
“By telling a trusted adult about what had happened he showed a great deal of bravery – as he has done throughout the legal process.
“Stewart Carlisle denied the allegations against him and appeared to gamble that we’d be unable to prove these allegations in court.
“However, thanks to some excellent forensic work we were able to present very clear evidence to the jury that suggested previous sexual activity between the two.
“Stewart Carlisle’s subsequent attempts to explain this evidence away were simply not credible and I am pleased the jury agreed.
“He will now spend a very long time in prison where can no longer pose a threat to young people.”
