A victim exhibited remarkable courage by reporting a rape by the Hackney Rapist, Stuart Jarvis, that transpired at a location near Bournemouth.
The incident transpired on the evening of Tuesday, 14 February 2023, at a location in the Queens Park vicinity, while the victim was inebriated and incapable of providing consent.
Detectives initiated an inquiry after the woman, in her 40s, reported the incident to the police on Thursday, February 16, 2023. Stuart Jarvis was promptly apprehended the same day and subsequently freed on bail while authorities examined all pertinent evidence.
Stuart Jarvis, 47, from Hackney, London, entered a guilty plea for rape at Bournemouth Crown Court on Monday, July 29, 2024. He received a sentence of 7 years and 6 months from the same court on Tuesday, May 13, 2025.
Detective Constable Tasha Beaufils, of BCP CID, said: “The victim has shown immense bravery and courage by coming forward to report what happened to her and also for supporting our investigation and the court process.
“Stuart Jarvis chose to take advantage of the victim in an abhorrent way while she was intoxicated and vulnerable. Nobody should have to experience what she did and I am pleased that the defendant is now facing the consequences of his actions.
