A former preparatory school educator has been sentenced to 10 years in prison after confessing to over a dozen sexual crimes.

Stuart McCulloch, 57, previously of Walthamstow, was jailed at Snaresbrook Crown Court on Friday after confessing to sexually assaulting a boy from ages 11 to 14 between February 2000 and February 2004.
He also confessed to sexually assaulting a seven-year-old girl.

McCulloch instructed at Snaresbrook Preparatory School, located on Woodford Road, from 2000 until this year. None of the offences pertain to students at the South Woodford school.

The nature of the offences was revealed in February of this year when the little girl informed her parents, who then reported the matter to the police.

McCulloch instigated a missing person search two days subsequent to being charged with sexual offences on February 15 and absconding to Eastbourne in East Sussex.

On March 14, he was discovered by a police officer in a public library in Eastbourne and confessed to all claims when child abuse photographs were located on his iPad.

Judge Owen additionally sentenced McCulloch to six months for the possession of indecent photographs and another six months for failing to appear in court while at large earlier this year.

In sentencing McCulloch, a former police officer, Judge Owen stated: “This is exceedingly serious and justly warrants lengthy sentences.”

These offences constitute a profound breach of trust in which you exploited a boy in a quintessential grooming scenario. “Your victims will mature under the impression that your immoral, depraved, and reprehensible conduct was acceptable.”

On May 12, he entered a guilty plea to four counts of indecent assault, six counts of child indecency, one charge of sexual assault on a child under the age of 13, and two counts of possession of indecent photos of a minor.

Headteacher Christopher Curl stated: “The school acknowledges that Stuart McCulloch, a former educator at Snaresbrook Prep School, is soon to be sentenced for charges of gross indecency and indecent assault.”

The police have stated that there is no investigation concerning the school, its staff, or its students.

No complaints or charges pertain to Mr. McCulloch’s position as a teacher at Snaresbrook Prep School.

Neither the school nor the faculty were cognisant of any issues pertaining to the charges before to or throughout Mr. McCulloch’s tenure at the school until the police’s involvement resulted in his arrest.

The institution seeks to affirm that all pertinent verifications were conducted about Mr. McCulloch’s appointment.

The ex-teacher from Snaresbrook Preparatory School on Woodford Road recently admitted to many charges, including indecent assault and gross indecency involving a male under the age of 16.

The abuse occurred from 2000 to 2004.

The paedophile escaped to Eastbourne in East Sussex but was apprehended on March 14.

He is scheduled for sentencing at Snarebrook Crown Court on June 9.
