An Eastbourne paedophile, Timothy James Parfitt, who kidnapped an 11-year-old girl from Walsall, whom he encountered in a chatroom, will be permitted to return online after his release from prison, according to an Appeal Court verdict.
Timothy James Parfitt, from East Dean, near Eastbourne, Sussex, was unsuccessful in his appeal to reduce his prison sentence, although was granted an additional opportunity to access the internet.
The ruling issued by the Appeal Court has provoked indignation in Walsall, the hometown of Timothy James Parfitt’s schoolgirl victim.
Walsall South MP Bruce George stated: “The judicial system in the UK continues to astonish me with its excessive leniency.”
I am dismayed by this decision, as it is imperative to safeguard our children. I am confident that the police will monitor him to prevent a relapse into his detrimental behaviours; nonetheless, the suggestion that Timothy James Parfitt may resume internet usage would undoubtedly provoke outrage if I were the victim’s parents.
Timothy James Parfitt maintained that he harboured only honourable intentions towards the youth he kidnapped in November 2004. Following their online encounter, he collected the girl in Walsall and transported her in his vehicle.
