A paedophile hailing from Lowestoft, Timothy Neale, has been convicted and punished for a series of sexual offences committed against a minor.
Timothy Neale, a 55-year-old resident of Montgomery Avenue in Lowestoft, received a sentence at Norwich Crown Court on Tuesday, 28 August.
The defendant received a cumulative prison term of 19 years for each of the two charges of rape. In addition, he received a 12-year term for each of three further rape charges. He was also sentenced to 12 months and 9 months for two counts of exposing a child to a sexual act. Timothy Neale received a 30-month term for engaging in sexual behaviour in the presence of a child and a three-year sentence for sexual abuse of a child. These sentences will be executed simultaneously.
After a two-week trial in late April, during which Timothy Neale entered a plea of not guilty to all of the charges, this follows. In May 2020, he was initially accused of the charges.
DC Williams, a member of the Internet Child Abuse Investigations Team, expressed that the victim went through a profoundly upsetting and terrible event. DC Williams commended the victims for their remarkable courage demonstrated throughout the ordeal. The victim and their family have had a lengthy road to reach this stage.
“Furthermore, they have demonstrated remarkable courage by not only reporting the incident to the police but also providing evidence throughout the investigation, court hearings, and trial, thus displaying their bravery in ensuring the perpetrator’s conviction.”
