A prison sentence has been handed to a Welwyn Garden City Paedophile, Vicky Butler, who was convicted of abusing three different children in Oxfordshire a decade ago.

Vicky Butler, 32, was on trial at Oxford Crown Court at the end of March last year charged with sexually assaulting two young girls when he was in his early 20s in Witney.

He denied the offences – four counts of assaulting a girl under the age of 13, and two counts of assaulting a girl under 13 by penetration.

However, a jury later found Vicky Butler guilty.

A month later, he appeared in court again charged with one count of sexual activity with a 13-year-old in 2013 on at least three occasions which he pleaded guilty to.

The offences relate to three different complainants – who cannot be named for legal reasons – whose ages ranged from five to 13 at the time the incidents took place.

Judge Nigel Daly sentenced Vicky Butler to 15 years imprisonment at the same court on Monday afternoon (February 17).

Sentencing Vicky Butler, he said: “It’s abundantly clear you’ve had a problem with your sexual behaviour towards young girls.

“All three were vulnerable and you exploited that vulnerability for your own sexual purposes.”

Judge Daly told the defendant he took into account the offending took place a decade ago and Vicky Butler has not reoffended since. [NOT BEEN CAUGHT SINCE]

He also took into account a reference made on Vicky Butler’s behalf.

Judge Daly added: “But the fact remains that you behaved in a despicable way to three young girls. It would not be an exaggeration to say that you ruined their lives.”

During the trial, one of the victims told the jury that Vicky Butler had come up behind her when she was in her school uniform.

“It hurt a lot,” she said. “It happened again and again and again. It was easily over 10 times. He managed to get me to the floor and he managed to get my trousers down.

“All I remember was that he managed to get me to the floor and he was on top of me. He took my underwear down but not completely off.

“I was petrified and ran away. He shouted at the time, he wanted me to go back. It hurt. He said nothing while it was going on.”

As well as the 15 years imprisonment, Vicky Butler, of Little Hardings, Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire, was handed a one year extended licence.

However, Judge Daly did not deem the defendant ‘dangerous’ due to the period of time lapsed since offending and his behaviour towards children since then.
