A “depraved” Bolton paedophile, Waseem Ullah, sexually raped a young girl in the rear of his vehicle after enticing her with money to “hang out” with him.
Waseem Ullah, 28, repeatedly spoke with the victim despite her rejection of his approaches and her disclosure of being underage. The police apprehended him after the girl’s mother discovered sexually explicit messages he had transmitted to her daughter.
Waseem Ullah persisted in communicating with the girl under an alias and orchestrated a meeting with her. He was sentenced to ten years in prison at Bolton Crown Court on Thursday, December 19.
Waseem Ullah began communicating with the girl on social media, saying he would pay her to “chill” with him, £20 for one hour, £40 for two, Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said.
The victim told him she was underage and did not want to meet up with him, but he persisted and told her: “See me sometimes and I pay u and u can get stuff with it.”
Waseem Ullah later began sending sexually explicit messages, and asked the girl for photographs of herself. Her mum discovered the messages and went to police in May 2022. Ullah was arrested and bailed with conditions he had to abide by.
On 7 June of this year, a young girl was reported missing to police amid concerns she had gone to meet someone she had met online. Later that night, officers received a report that the girl had been spotted in a car with an older male.
Officers say Waseem Ullah had arranged to meet the girl after messaging her on social media using a false name. He picked her up in his car and drove around Bolton before heading north towards Darwen, where he sexually assaulted her in the back of his car.
Specialist officers spoke to the victim, who told them what had happened and explained how she met Waseem Ullah. He was arrested after being spotting emptying and cleaning his car in Bolton on June 9.
Waseem Ullah, of Mobberley Road, Bolton, originally pleaded not guilty and denied knowing the victim, but later admitted causing a female 13 or over to engage in non-penetrative sexual activity, two counts of sexual assault, engaging in sexual communication with a child, and breach of court bail conditions.
Police Constable Becky Greenwood, of Greater Manchester Police’s Bolton Complex Safeguarding Team, said: “Waseem Ullah showed no remorse for his behaviour and denied his criminality until he was faced with indisputable evidence. He was persistent in his attempts to exploit the survivors in this case, and I am pleased that we were able to secure the evidence to send him to prison for a long time.
“I would like to thank the girls who spoke to us and bravely disclosed Ullah’s depraved behaviour. We know that this sentence goes no way to make up for what Ullah subjected them to, but we hope they can draw some comfort from the fact he is now behind bars.”
