A Salford GP Wayne Sefton Davis informed one of his victims that he ‘needed to instruct her on how to satisfy her husband’ and sought to ascertain whether another was ‘a virgin’.
Wayne Sefton Davis has received an eight-year prison sentence for sexually abusing patients during his 15-year tenure as a general practitioner.
Wayne Sefton Davis, 69, informed one of his victims that he “needed to instruct her on how to satisfy her husband” and sought to ascertain whether another was “a virgin” while he sexually attacked them during medical tests, according to Greater Manchester Police (GMP).
In May 2020, police in Salford, Greater Manchester initiated an inquiry following reports from two women regarding Davis’s misconduct.
Wayne Sefton Davis, who is homeless (He isn’t homeless, Experienced Sex Offenders know not to give their current address and if they are living with another person they get that person to tell the police they no longer live there. That way they can move back in after prison/court and no-one knows they live there), was apprehended on allegations of sexual assault following a report from one of the women who stated she was raped during an appointment in 2006, according to GMP.
Another victim emerged to report a comparable incident involving Davis following the issuance of a press release regarding his arrest.
After a two-week trial at Manchester Crown Court in December 2024, Davis was unanimously convicted of many sexual offences, including one count of sexual assault by penetration and one count of indecent assault, according to GMP.
He received an eight-year prison sentence and was permanently registered as a sex offender by the same court on Monday, according to the authorities.
Detective Sergeant Charlotte Sullivan expressed gratitude to the victims and survivors for their courage in recounting their experiences following what was “a prolonged and harrowing ordeal for them to withstand.”
She stated: “Wayne Sefton Davis’s actions are profoundly horrific and shocking; he exploited his position of power for personal sexual gratification.”
“His actions exemplify a total violation of trust and authority.” He exploited the women during a period when they required affirmation.
“He deliberately disregarded the GP’s chaperone policy and sexually assaulted unaccompanied women in his workplace, showing complete indifference to their wellbeing, as they sought his counsel as a medical professional for personal and confidential issues.”
Ms. Sullivan stated that such instances are exceedingly uncommon, although GMP “maintains close collaboration” with medical practices, local trusts, staff, the local authority, and support organisations.
