An 86-year-old ex-church deacon has been sentenced to eight years in prison for indecently assaulting young boys over two decades ago.
William Koeneke, 86, of Pevensey Road, Eastbourne, was convicted at Isleworth Crown Court on March 12 of four counts of indecent assault against boys under the age of 16.
William Koeneke perpetrated the assaults on the youngsters while employed at the Worldwide Church of God (WCG).
William Koeneke served as a deacon in the church and frequently delivered sermons.
William Koeneke befriended and abused four adolescent victims from 1985 to 1989 at a location in Paddington.
He received an eight-year prison sentence and was permanently registered as a sex offender. A Sexual Offences Prevention Order was additionally enacted. William Koeneke was apprehended in December 2011 subsequent to allegations from four victims, who are currently in their 30s.
