Wiqas Mahmud Huddersfield Paedophile

A Huddersfield Paedophile sex offender, Wiqas Mahmud, currently serving a 19-year sentence for the sexual abuse of young children in Kirklees has been found guilty of additional offences.

Wiqas Mahmud (44) of Huddersfield was sentenced again at Leeds Crown Court today (12 June) after confessing to grave sexual offences against two adolescent females in Huddersfield between 2001 and 2006.

The 44-year-old received a sentence of five years and four months in prison, to be served upon the completion of his present 19-year incarceration.

Wiqas Mahmud was convicted in 2018 for sexual offences against young girls in Kirklees, with his second sentencing being on April 13, 2023.

He received a sentence of six years and three months in jail during the hearing in April 2023.

In the most recent instance, Wiqas Mahmud admitted guilt to one count of rape, three counts of sexual conduct with a minor, one count of encouraging or inciting a minor to engage in sexual activity, and one count of indecent assault.

Their victims were 13 and 14 years old when the offences commenced in the Huddersfield region.

In 2020, the police received a report and initiated an investigation as part of Kirklees Police’s ongoing specialised enquiries into historical child sexual exploitation and abuse.

DCI Oliver Coates of Kirklees District Police, said: “Wiqas Mahmud is without doubt an absolute danger to young females who has now been convicted three times and sentenced to more than 24 years in prison.

“It was welcome to see the court determine he must serve his latest sentence after the lengthy combined 19 year sentence he is currently in prison for, and I hope this further conviction has been of some comfort to his victims.”

He added: “Sexual predators such as Wiqas Mahmud have only been snared through the courage of victims coming forward and I want to thank both women in this case.

“By reporting this horrendous abuse and supporting the trial process, they and other women in these cases, have played a significant role in making communities safer by ensuring men such as Wiqas Mahmud are off our streets.

“We continue to urge all victims of sexual offending who may not have reported offences to come forwards, no matter when crimes took place. Specialist officers will always listen, investigate and do whatever they can to secure justice for you.”

LET’S HOPE HE DOESN’T GET LET OUT AFTER A FEW YEARS LIKE A LOT OF THE OTHER GROOMING GANG MEMBERS.
