A Bewbush Rapist from Crawley man, Wojciech Burylo, been convicted of several rapes and severe assaults on a lady. Wojciech Burylo, 39, of Calvin Walk in Bewbush, raped, attacked, and intimidated a lady over 10 years, from 2014 to 2024.
Wojciech Burylo had complete control over her life and regularly threatened to kill her if she did not follow his orders.
Wojciech Burylo called the victim, a woman in her forties, more than 40 times a day, inquiring where she was and threatening her with horrific violence, including decapitation.
She reported the offence to Sussex Police in January 2024, and he was arrested and released on bail with tight terms and a Domestic Violence Protection Notice to prevent him from causing additional harm to the victim.
Within an hour of leaving custody, he called the victim from a public phone and proceeded to message her.
He was quickly captured and sent in detention, where he continued to send threatening letters to the victim.
Wojciech Burylo was found guilty of three counts of rape, three counts of making threats to kill, and one act of violence in Lewes Crown Court on Tuesday (9 July).
The next hearing to prepare for sentencing will take place on December 12 in a court to be determined.
Detective Inspector Darren Taylor stated, “Wojciech Burylo is a controlling, dangerous man who subjected the victim of this investigation to years of physical and emotional abuse.”
“I can’t thank her enough for having the courage to break free from that cycle of control and report his crimes to us.”
“She has helped put a horrible guy to prison, and as we approach punishment, I hope she may look forward to a future free of further suffering from Wojciech Burylo.
