UPDATE 10.09.25

A malevolent Worcester paedophile, Leslie Belcher, found guilty of perpetrating a series of atrocious sexual assaults on a six-year-old child whom he had restrained over a seven-year duration, has had his sentencing postponed once more.

Leslie Belcher, residing at St Clement’s Close, St John’s, was convicted of nine charges of sexual assault on a child under 13, one crime of false imprisonment, and one count of engaging in sexual intercourse with a minor after a trial in June.

A jury at Worcester Crown Court acquitted the 67-year-old of two charges: the penetration of a child under 13 and the sexual abuse of a child under 13 by striking her with a belt.

The court received testimony indicating that the abuse commenced when the girl was approximately six or seven years old and persisted until law enforcement was notified when she was around 13.

In a singular incident of abuse, the minor was transported to a secluded stable in a field where Belcher had bound her legs and each arm to opposing sides of the shelter before to disrobing her.

A pre-recorded interview with the girl, whose identity is protected for legal reasons, was presented to the court.

In the video, the girl said the police that Leslie Belcher had bound her with rope and stripped her of her clothing, but she was able to escape when they heard a woman’s voice outside, providing her the opportunity to wriggle free.

Leslie Belcher was informed that a significant jail sentence was “inevitable” and that he would be sentenced on August 21 after a pre-sentence report.

Nevertheless, the sentencing was postponed until Monday (September), only to encounter additional delays.

Leslie Belcher is scheduled for sentencing on September 12 at Wolverhampton Crown Court; however, the Worcester News reports that this date is not confirmed and may be altered.

A date will be determined in the future days.
